Please quit blaming the parents calling them garbage. You do not no the circumstances. My son has autism and is a runner even though he is watched like a hawk, hes escaped us more than once. What a horrific thing to say to about grieving mother. I've bought baby gates to stack on top of each other and put over 40 dollars worth of extra locks on my doors because he learn how to undo the dead bolts. When we go to sleep at night we actually have to tie the hallway room door shut with a rope so he cant escape and go into other parts of the house. All the protection in the world and constant supervision and hes escaped once from me and once from my husband where 911 had to be called both times. I assure you it's not because I'm a trashy parent. I love my son deeply. Accidents do happen in a split second especially with an intelligent kid who is a runner and escape artist. I pray for this lady right now in the name of Jesus that he may be with her. All you people who are judging need to stop it immediately. I'd die for my son. He is 3 and he has intensive aba therapy 5 hours a day 5 days a week, speech and occupational therapy two times a week not to mention school 3 days a week, homeschool once a week and group. As well as doctors and home visits. Im exhausted and tired all the time physically and mentally. I watch him like a hawk to the best of my ability every second of everyday. I'm very terrified everyday of my life for him. I know in a split second with just the turn of my head he can be gone and he has done it once to me and once to my husband. It's the most sickest feeling you can ever experience. Please stop calling this lady garbage. You dont have the facts to be judging someone else's life like that. Shes is living hell on earth right now. The longest my son has been gone is 15 to 20 mins. It was the worst mins of my life. We got off an elevator at motel he hit the stairs before we knew it and he was gone. Noone on earth could love their child as much as I love mine, and I'm far from garbage when it comes to being a mother to my son. It could easily happen to anyone of us with a child. Stop being so hateful to this grieving mother!!!

So heartbreaking. Condolences to the family.

  • Hey Beavis

That is awful and I feel so bad for the driver of that train if they had to see that. I don't know how you can't feel responsible even though it wasn't there fault. I hope some peace for them tonight.

It's very unclear what police mean by saying it was "an accident" and "not intentional," unless they are referring to the child's intentions. It is certainly very foreseeable that something terrible could happen to a young child wandering around unsupervised. The real question here is how that happened.

Young children require vigilant supervision. Very sad, tragic happening. I can't imagine trying to deal with this loss. Condolences to all involved, including train crew and first responders.

someone is going to be blaming themselves for this for years to come, never to know a good night's sleep again. i feel for that person, but - only so much. unless you were busy saving someone else's life, there was nothing you were doing that was worth this.

Obviously everyone is so sad for the family and friends of the child, but please remember and pray for peace for the train crew well. It never is easy on them when anyone is killed in a train/vehicle/pedestrian accident, but when a child is involved, it is especially hard and traumatizing.

Very sad. Cars and Trucks are no match for a train. Humans are just mosquitoes on the windshield.

Where were the parents? Too busy to watch their young child?

    Not enough info to speculate.

    It's a bad one, that's for sure.

When I was a kid there was alot of holes in the fences. Luckily we didn't go though them.
