The person who pointed out it is the Revolutionary Guard and not the Republican Guard is 100% correct. Like I said, I needed more coffee. Good call.

Less than 6,200 barrels of oil. Not exactly the Exxon Valdez.

The title of this article is is so ignoramus: "Iranian 'Republican' Guard..."! What? Republican?! It is called the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps aka IRGC. This bit of misinformation, although insignificant to many viewers, invalidates the rest of your article. It is as if you took a sound bite and regurgitated it as a legitimate and believable "news" article. This sort of "journalism" is what has vilified Iranians for the past 40 years and it is still going on.

165 liter make one barrel. That is a tiny tanker with just 12 guys as crew. And 'foreign' -- well, of course it is not Iranian.

Very sketchy and incomplete information. On the surface it appears they seized their own oil bound for UAE one of their sworn enemies. But considering the current administration's march to war with Iran, the missing details may be intentional. Who cares? The USA should not be protecting oil and tankers belonging to the Saudis or UAE nor it is a reason to involve the USA considering UAE should not be importing oil against our sanctions if they are truly our friends...……...

Iran says it has seized a foreign tanker with 12 crew aboard that it accuses of smuggling oil in the Persian Gulf

Well this is working out well, strange are the ways of a stable genius, mere mortals cannot hope to understand.

Wait. So Iran stopped a bunch of its own oil from being sold. What?
