When southern states announced their entries in these, 'who-can-be-more-sadistic-to-impregnated-women' contests...the image in my mind was that 'lottery_update' commercial: the announcer taps the mike, get's feedback, then announces whatever the new jackpot is up to, which, (via special effects), causes a near, stampede as updated lotto tickets are sought;
In terms of this (failed) forced birther effort...the people, stampeding are leaving their jihadist faiths / forced_birth / foetel_worship, etc.
Meanwhile...Abrahamic_Monotheist 'true-believer-defection' statistics are climbing, faster than an F-35, intercepting a (Russian) TU-95, off the coast!

Whenever I read about the abortion debate, one person always comes to mind. US Congressman Steve Desjarlins of Tennessee, who is one of the biggest fighters in Congress to make abortion illegal. Only problem is that good ol' boy Steve encouraged his wife to have not one, but TWO abortions, because he didn't want more children. She terminated both pregnancies.

Remarkably, after it was publicized that Desjarlins wife had aborted fetuses, with his consent, he was re-elected, twice.

This is very typical of right wingers who rant and rave about abortion. It's not good if someone else has one, but THEIR abortion is their own business and they don't want anyone telling them no. Can you spell H-P-O-C-R-I-S-Y?

They really need to bring back School House Rock and run it during prime time. It's pretty apparent that people don't know how the legal system works or how the justice system complements it.

These opponents are not Christians, they are radicals trying to impose their twisted views of their holy book, which they pick and choose every passage they want to use. Their real name is "Religinazis"

Back before abortion was legal, wealthy women could always obtain one by either leaving the country or scheduling a "D&C" with a doctor friend. Low and middle income women who wanted abortions were either forced to have a baby or be at the mercy of a back alley abortionist who could kill them or possibly give them a life threatening medical problem.

Republicans are pro-birth, not pro-life. Your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed.

What's there to be confused about? Most Republicans, especially Republican politicians, hate women have real freedom, agency, or autonomy over their own destinies. AND the love to use the force of law to impose their religious beliefs onto everyone else by legislating their religious beliefs. In other words, they are wannabe theocrats so every chance they get they try to legislate as if they are theocrats.

Opening his eyes is a good sign, but the long term effects are still unpredictable. It could literally take years to know.

I think one aspect of this assault on women's rights is the southern "good ol' boys" trying to keep women in their 'place'. Then, of course there is the oppressive Christian right trying to force their beliefs on others. It's not their call. They should mind their own business.

As the old saying goes: If men could have babies, abortion would be a sacrament.
