I am not sure how a company choosing which demographic to advertise to adversely affects anyone's civil rights.

Am I required to place a house for rent ad in ALL local publications, or am I free to only put it in certain magazines or newspapers?

Are rich people allowed to put ads only in places where other rich people who can afford the residence are going to see them, or does the law require advertising in less affluent locales?

If my house has been specially-designed for certain religious accommodations, is it illegal to include “Sabath mode appliances” or “bidet” in the ad to reach those looking for such things?

What about placing an ad for a wheelchair-friendly house in a publication for disabled persons? Isn’t that indicating a “preference”?

At what point does it become illegal “preference” when no such preference is actually mentioned in the ad?
