The FAA is what some conservatives call "government overreach."

    Maybe now they get it.

Nah, who am I kidding? Of course they don't getting. All government regulation of the free market is bad. So what if a few planes fall out of the sky?

In the rabidly anti-regulatory era of Trump it makes sense that the EU and Canada would insist on their own independent assessment of air worthiness. The EU and Canada would be negligent to just accept the findings of the FAA.

Why did they not take action to 'fully ensure the safety of the 737 max' prior to these catastrophes, being apparently aware of problems ( whistleblowers )? That is what they should have done. Does not look good for boeing and the FAA.

This is bad! The FAA uses to be like the Gold standard. Now it is looked at as a possible publisher of Trump lies. Hopefully the United States will recover from this disastrous mistake of a president.

The world is moving away from trusting anything that comes out of the United States.
Thank you Trump for eroding our credibility around the world. Any federal agency under your direction can no longer be the world's leader as we once were. The FAA should have taken the lead on steps leading to the grounding of the MAX. They did too late too little in cooperation with Boeing.

If this software fix is anything like some of the Microsoft Windows fixes, I wouldn't trust it either.

Boeing mess up very badly, and they had bad leadership. The only way forward is to have the CEO resign or be removed by the board of directors. The FAA messed up the certification and it too needs shaken up!
