It's always interesting to see how many people who live in the USA post responses to articles about incidents like this saying it was "no big deal," or that giving a Nazi hand salute is not offensive, or that it can't possibly be a hate crime. These are people who invariably have no experience being the target of hate, threats of violence, or intimidation infringing on their civil rights. They are also people who have nobody in their family who came out of experiences wherein they were subject to violence and/or denial of their rights based on their race, religion, etc. They are also most often people who complain bitterly about people who say "happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas," in outrage over perceived slights toward their personal religious beliefs that are actually just kind people trying to be respectful of the diversity of religious beliefs in our communities.
The "no big deal" crowd votes for anyone who waves the flag and wears a stars and stripes lapel pin, while having no real idea what the flag stands for and what the constitution says about the rights enumerated therein being granted to all. These people will be the downfall of this nation - not the terrorists from outside our borders, but the citizens who remain willfully ignorant of the fragility of our democratic institutions and civil rights and who refuse to give others the respect they self-righteously insist on for themselves. -
As an Ashkenazic Jew, I would relish the opportunity to 'teach' these putrid guttersnipes about the consequences of "Trump's White Nationalist Nazism" and the deleterious effects such hate and racism has had on America.

Hitler youth of America!

What is there to investigate? It's stupid, but I thought this country was still free. I guess not.
-
Police investigation? Whatever... it's in very poor taste but c'mon man!

The photographer's story makes NO sense. These kids were not waving goodbye to parents. For whatever reason, the photographer that this was a good idea, and most the kids probably had no idea what the "wave" represented. What an A$$.
Maybe no crime was committed, but there certainly is room for education about the subject.

Being edgy in 2018 is illegal according to the left.

The text on the tweet said "We even got the black kid to throw it up". Just disgusting, awful people.
-
Why are the police wasting money and time investigating this?
-
Have them pay their own way to the Holocaust Museum and meet survivors.

The photographer is totally backpedaling. I read in another article that he thought it was fine and that it was funny. Nazi salutes are never funny and shouldn’t become “normalized”, and this photographer seems clueless.

I think they all should be forced to sit and meet with several holocaust survivors. If that isn't possible then they have to spend one hour a day watching documentaries about the holocaust that includes interviews with people who survived. I know my history teacher in high school had us watch several documentaries about the holocaust. All of them heart wrenching. It drove home the point how important it was to defeat the Nazis.

Does anyone see anybody in that photo actually waving?
Didn't anybody read the article? It said it was the timing of the picture not a salute.
