I hope her kids weren't home while she was being kicked and chased around the house, or when she was killed. So much violence in the home, the boys must've seen or experienced some of it, which is terrible.

A worthless piece of paper issued by the courts. So many woman 6 feet under or scarred for life that were granted this useless paper.

A protection order is not some magical spell that puts a protective shield between people. It is just a legal notification to the accused that there will be penalties if the order is violated.

If anyone feels that they are at risk, don't stop at a protection order. That is literally a piece of paper. Take steps to protect yourself and that may mean moving away.

Women, if you are getting a restraining order against someone, you need to hole up somewhere safe for a week or more. So many domestic violence victims are murdered in the lead up to a restraining order or in the days following. It acts as a trigger.

Dear author/editor: the correct title would be Navy Chief, not Navy Officer. Navy/Naval Officer refers to commissioned officers O-1 to 0-10. A chief is an enlisted person E-7 through E-9 and is a non-commissioned officer, but is never referred to as officer even though it is technically in their title. She earned the title of Chief, respect it.
