The Euro-Americans' war on wolves continues after over 100 years. Europeans nearly exterminated Wolf in Europe and continued to try to exterminate Wolf in North America. Generations later, they still make war on Wolf. First Nations never made war on Wolf and did not have stupid, helpless livestock either. An inevitable result of domestication to make animals controllable by ranchers well enough for their convenience, is that the livestock are also vulnerable to native predators. Cattle don't even belong anywhere here that is not natural habitat for bison, as in northern Arizona.

This does not need to be a difficult conversation for a logical outcome. Cattle, sheep nor their breeding humans are endangered species, but much of the remainder of actual wildlife is. Protect the endangered. Humans can protect themselves. Cattle and sheep can be protected with fencing and barns. Perhaps an over-simplification of the matter, but why not just get to the nuts n bolts of it and move on.
